Getting Started with MATRIX
1. Get MATRIX
Buy a perpetual license in the Quadra Store, or plan to start the 14-day full trial from Authorization after install. You will sign in with the same Google Quadra ID on the website.
- Store: quadraaudio.com/store/quadra-matrix
- Requires macOS 26 or later (Apple Silicon or Intel).
2. Install and open MATRIX
Download MATRIX from Releases (footer or Account → Download), run the installer, and launch MATRIX.app. The installer places Core Audio drivers and restarts coreaudiod.
- Downloads: quadraaudio.com/releases
- Allow system software / audio drivers under Privacy & Security if macOS asks.
- You should see MATRIX after launch.
3. Authorize or start the trial
In MATRIX, open Authorization and choose Sign in on the web. Complete login on quadraaudio.com/activate — the site binds this Mac and returns a signed license (or starts the 14-day trial). After that, MATRIX works offline.
4. Confirm Matrix Bridge devices
In MATRIX, enable the bridge sizes you need. Open Audio MIDI Setup — you should see Matrix Bridge devices (2‑A, 2‑B, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128). Do not select the hidden MATRIX Engine hub as a normal DAW device.
5. Make your first patch
Open the Matrix Grid. Sources are on one axis, destinations on the other. Click a cross-point to connect. Set a DAW or app to a Matrix Bridge output, then patch that bridge to your interface or another bridge. Use the Monitor section for speakers and headphones.
